NEW DELHI: Total number of confirmed COVID 2019 cases across India touches 83. Among these patients 66 are Indians, including the 10 people who have been cured and two people who have died , and 17 are foreign nationals who tested positive for coronavirus while their travel to India.

Government declares COVID-19 a notified disaster
The government of India decided to treat COVID-19 as a notified disaster for the purpose of providing assistance under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). A state government may use up to 10 per cent of the funds available under the SDRF for providing immediate relief to the victims of an event which is considered to be a ‘disaster’ within the local context in the State. SDRF is used only for meeting the expenditure for providing immediate relief to the victims.

Pakistan has said it will participate in a video conference of Saarc member countries proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to combat the fast-spreading coronavirus pandemic that has killed over 5,000 people globally. Nearly 12 lakh international passengers screened for coronavirus: Civil aviation minister

A 25-year-old Agra woman whose husband, a Google employee, tested positive for novel coronavirus in Bengaluru earlier this week, also tested positive on Friday. According to health officials, the woman, who recently returned from her honeymoon in Italy and was put under quarantine after her husband showed symptoms of the disease, escaped from Bengaluru on March 8, took a flight to New Delhi and travelled to Agra to be with her parents.
68-yr-old Delhi woman becomes India’s 2nd coronavirus casualty
India reported its second Covid-19 death on Friday, with a 68-year-old woman from Delhi who had tested positive for novel coronavirus succumbing to the infection. The woman’s son, who had recently returned from Europe, had earlier tested positive for the virus. Earlier, on March 10, a 76-year-old man from Kalaburagi in north Karnataka with Covid-19 symptoms, had died.
