PUNE: A Chinese national aboard a Delhi-Pune Air India flight (AI851) was isolated and admitted to hospital on Friday to rule out novel coronavirus infection after he complained of uneasiness and vomited in the aircraft mid-air.
“A passenger got unwell in the flight. He is admitted to a hospital,” Air India spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar told TOI.
“The other passengers were not checked as according to the regulations, they should be checked only in case of a confirmed case of coronavirus. The passenger had come to India a long time ago. He had tested negative for the virus at different airports, both in India and in other countries,” Pune airport director Kuldeep Singh toldTOI. The development caused an over six-hour delay in the flight’s return trip.
